At Francis Walsh Intermediate School, we are committed to creating a learning community in which every student is known, valued, challenged, and empowered to succeed. As a school serving students in grades 5–8, we recognize that these years are an important time for academic growth, personal development, and discovering one's unique strengths.

Our mission is to provide a safe educational environment that is conducive to learning. Together, we strive to inspire students to cultivate the knowledge, skills, and adaptability necessary to become lifelong learners while encouraging high achievement, embracing diversity, and developing responsible, engaged citizens.

At Francis Walsh Intermediate School, we believe every student deserves to feel a sense of belonging while being inspired to reach their fullest potential. We foster a culture where curiosity is encouraged, challenges are embraced, and mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth. Through meaningful relationships and engaging learning experiences, we help students build the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.

As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, leadership is embedded in our culture, not reserved for a select few, but developed in every student. Guided by Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, students learn to be proactive, set meaningful goals, prioritize what matters most, collaborate effectively, communicate with empathy, celebrate the successes of others, and continually seek growth. These habits help students become confident learners, responsible citizens, and compassionate leaders both inside and outside the classroom.

Everything we do is rooted in our core values of Safety, Respect, Responsibility, and Citizenship. These principles shape our classrooms, guide our decision-making, strengthen our partnerships with families, and foster a positive school culture where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

We are proud of the strong partnerships we share with our families and community, and we work together to help every student learn, lead, and grow.
